Board
the motorcoach and travel to New York for a guided visit to the
Lake Shore Railway Museum, housed in the former
New York Central passenger depot. The museum features a large
collection of railroad artifacts.
Parked
on the tracks are an original Heisler locomotive, a 1922 tank
car, a dining car, and sleeping cars, including a 1926 "Nightstar"
sleeping car built by George Pullman. You can
walk through these cars and touch a little of the past!
Arrive
at Peek 'N Peak for a scrumptious tasty meal
in a beautiful setting. The original Reed Mansion
was built in the mid-1880's and reconstructed in the 1970's using
Polaroid photos. Hear more stories of this historic tear down
and rebuilding, boasting 17 fireplaces and Tiffany stained glass
windows.
Afterwards,
drive over the hills and through the valleys to see hot glass
take on shapes. Hear the roar
of the fire as the master glass blower creates distinctive articles
for your home at Blockhouse Glassblowing Studio and
learn the techniques of this very old process. You can also buy
these beautiful items. He specializes in gorgeous Christmas ornaments,
so come prepared to shop!
Take
in more fall colors as we ride along the Shea Design &
Company where you'll find something new, something old,
something for your tummy, antiques, clothing, greeting cards,
and flowers that smell so lovely.
This
tour has been mapped out so you can see the magnificent fall foliage
of the rolling hills.
