1:
 Board
the motorcoach and relax as we make our way to Washington
D.C. with appropriate stops along the way. Visit the
Smithsonian Institution museums on the National
Mall. Visit the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center.
Then, visit the Smithsonian Institution's National Air
and Space Museum. Visitors are able to walk among the
exhibits and view them from elevated "skyways."
There is an Observation Tower where
visitor's can watch air traffic at Dulles International Airport.
Do not bring sharp items into the museums, all bags,
purses, shopping bags, suitcases, etc. will be hand searched.
Depart and enjoy dinner at JR's Stockyards Inn,
an award winning fine dining restaurant located in popular McLean,
Virginia. Check into the Marriott Tyson's Corner for the remainder
of the evening.
Day 2:
Enjoy
breakfast at the hotel before departing for guided touring of
the Memorials. Visit Mount Vernon, the estate
of George Washington, where he escaped the rigor
of public office and enjoyed the life of a successful Virginia
planter. Visit the Ford Orientation Center and
Donald W. Reynolds Museum and Education Center.
Enjoy a colonial lunch at the Mount
Vernon Inn. After lunch, continue touring with stops at the George
Washington Masonic National Memorial and Christ Church,
a beautiful example of Georgian church architecture, dating from
1773. Enjoy some free time to explore the historic Old Town Alexandria.
Browse the antique shops, specialty shops, galleries, and boutiques
that give Alexandria its quaint, small-town feel.
Afterwards,
stop at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial (to touch
or make pencil rubbings of the 58,000 names), Lincoln
Memorial, and Korean War Veterans Memorial.
Enjoy dinner on your own and free
time along M Street in Georgetown. Walk through the Kennedy
Center for the Performing Arts before stopping at the
National World War II Memorial, this memorial
is a monument to the spirit, sacrifice, and commitment of the
American people to the common defense of the nation and to the
broader causes of peace and freedom from tyranny throughout the
world. Return to the hotel for the evening.
Day 3:
Enjoy
breakfast at the hotel before departing for more guided touring.
The first stop is Arlington National Cemetery.
No land in American is more sacred than this squared mile, America's
shrine to valor and sacrifice. This is the final resting place
for President John F. Kennedy, Jacqueline
Kennedy Onassis, Audie Murphy, prizefighter Joe Louis,
and thousands of soldiers from every major United
States war.
Afterwards, arrive at the Newseum
and enjoy lunch on your own in the cafeteria. After lunch, visit
the Newseum, the only interactive museum
of news. Go behind the scenes and try your hand at being a television
news anchor or radio sportscaster. Relive the great news stories
of the past, from the spoken stories of ancient times to today's
worldwide information explosion. Because the news changes daily,
no two visits to the Newseum are ever alike.
Walk across the street to the National Mall,
where it's your choice of which Smithsonian Institution's museum
to visit: the National Air and Space Museum, Hirshhorn
Museum and Sculpture Garden, National Museum of American History,
National Museum of African Art,
National Museum of American History, and much more.
Depart and make stops at the Jefferson
Memorial and the Air Force Memorial. You can see the
Pentagon from the Air Force Memorial. Enjoy dinner this evening
at Tony and Joe's on the waterfront
in Georgetown. Afterwards, stop at the Franklin D. Roosevelt
Memorial, which is divided into four outdoor galleries,
or rooms, one for each of FDR's terms in office. Return to the
hotel for the night.

Day
4:
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel prior to checking out and meeting
the tour guide at the entrance of the
White House Visitor's Center. Tour the White
House Visitor's Center and stop for a photo opportunity of The
White House. Drive down Embassy Row
enroute to tour the Washington National Cathedral.
Also, stop at Union Station.
Enjoy lunch on your own and free time to explore the shops. The
city's main train station is a classic Beaux-Arts design
of monumental proportions. Restored to its original grandeur in
1980's, Union Station features a large food court, a movie theater,
shops, and kiosks. We'll depart for home with a meal stop en route
and many fond memories!
